One day, high school student Aki suddenly starts seeing a yokai-like creature called "Kuroko" (!?). She wonders what this Kuroko that only she can see really is. At the same time, another student Wataru who has just moved to Aki's town from Tokyo also starts seeing the Kuroko. Aki and Wataru bond over their ability to see the Kuroko, and soon realize that these creatures are "good omens" for their future. They quietly exist beside them, without drawing attention. Aki and Wataru start to feel that they might have a good future ahead of them too.
