"Silent Snow" Jan van den Berg

"Australian Human Rights Arts and Film Festival 2008 Best International Film"
"International Short Film Festival Berlin 2008 (Germany)"
"Planet in Focus Film & Video Festival 2008 (Canada) Best International Short Award"
Thanks to the juries, who gave me these two important awards. It was a great surprise to me, especially after I'd seen the other beautiful films in the Stop Global Warming competition. These awards for Silent Snow will certainly help me to get the money together for the production of the feature length film.
Thanks to the organization of the festival. It was a wonderful experience to see my film with beautiful Japanese characters and with a lot of people together. The audience had such good questions, interesting comments and - last but not least - a lot of praise :-)
Thanks to the volunteers, who were so kind and helpful to me. They showed me the city and helped me from the airport and in and out of trains. In that way I could enjoy a for me completely new country in a very short time and was never lost in translation.
And thanks for the staff for introducing me to others who fight for a better environment. I understood that many people in Japan also suffer from this dangerous pollution and I hope that I will be able to film part of the upcoming feature film in your country.
