SPECIAL EVENT – CREATORS’ SEMINAR “CINEVISION”
DIRECTOR NAOMI KAWASE & PRODUCER MARIANNE SLOT.

Our 20th Anniversary festival kicked off with a bang. Following a gala opening ceremony & gala party on Monday, we jumped right into things with a seminar featuring two women leading in their respective fields.
Cannes award-winning director Naomi Kawase was the “interviewer,” & her guest was uber-producer Marianne Slot who has produced all of Lars von Trier’s films & is president of her own production company based in Paris, Slot Machine.

The audience was treated to over an hour of two professionals at the top their games.
Director Kawase remarked on how fortunate she was to have met a producer, Marianne, who understands her vision & felt that she had a true partner in Marianne.
Marianne, who was born in Denmark but is now based in Paris, has produced on an international level for many years now & remarked on how film & visual images really have no borders & the visual image is a language in itself. He encouraged the young creators gathered there to never give up & to try & approach as many of the many many film festivals around the world to get noticed & eventually accepted.

The audience & all of us at Short Shorts were completely blown away by the intelligence & generosity of these two film industry veterans.
