HEY HEY ALL!

Our 2nd day of screenings here at “SPACE O” event space in Omotesando Hills started out with great turnouts for the first 2 programs; “WAR & the POWER TO LIVE PROGRAM 1” supported by the International Committee of Red Cross and a full house for the 2nd program, “ANNIVERSARY PROGRAM 1” where we selected past award-winning short films from our 20 year history.

Our 3rd program screening of the day, the “SPECIAL PROGRAM FROM CANNES” which features a selection of shorts from Cannes 2017 including the Palme D’or Award winning short from China, “A GENTLE NIGHT.” This program also had our 1st Q/A guest from Poland, director Grzegorz Molda who came with his assistant director Aneta Romanska for his short film “TIME TO GO,” a film about the hard choices a young woman has to make between her father, her lover or her baby. When asked, Grzegorz told the audience that this was his film school graduate film & that he had very good support from his school & teachers. It was interesting that he noted that the school is rather conservative in its teachings & the students aren’t really encouraged to experiment.

The FASHION PROGRAM brought director Jordan Blady & producer Pavel Buryak out to represent the ultra-cool “GRISHA’S GUIDE TO KIEV.” They drew a light from the audience when they said that they had originally planned on casting an actress to be the main character who guides through the delights & attractions of Kiev, but the moment “Grisha” walked in the door, they knew they had their man! The short featured the fashion pieces of a local designer worn by various models who “happen” to be in each area that Grisha is introducing to the audience. A cool & whimsical look at Kiev & a great introduction to the latest fashion.
