SSFF collaborated with DJI JAPAN, the world biggest drone company, to discuss how drones can influence short film creators and ways to use them effectively.
First, Allen Wu, DJI JAPAN General Manager presented DJI’s new drone, “Phantom 4”. It caught every audience’s eyes.
Festival Ambassador LiLiCo, SSFF President Tetsuya Bessho, and “WIRED” Japanese Deputy Editor Sota Toshiyoshi joined with Allen Wu to discuss more about drone. LiLiCo came up with several ideas to use drones in filmmaking and other situations such as wedding parties. Bessho said he wants to make a one-cut short all filmed by drone.

And there was an interesting phrase from DJI film director, Taketoshi Kumada, answering a question from the audience. He said, it would be easier to use drones, if you think about it as “just extending your arms”.
Drones are the tools to give wide possibilities to film makes.
